Double tool synchronous thread rolling head

When the rolling head rolls the product, it is necessary to adjust and set the tool first. The accuracy of tool adjustment and setting will directly affect the rolling allowance and accuracy of the product. At the same time, the product processor should be familiar with the parameters of the product itself, including product allowance, material and hardness. For plane rolling, it is a difficult problem to increase the tool travel because of the large coverage of the tool travel, because it is necessary to ensure that the plane and end face are completely rolled. Through long-term machining practice, we understand the rolling track of ordinary rolling cutter on the plane, and we improve the original rolling head. We have added the synchronous work of double cutters of rolling cutter head. The design uses a double cutter tangential thread rolling head. The thread can be sleeved on the part from the initial position to the working feed of the axis distribution plane of the part and in the case of final position calibration. However, it is complex to ensure that the part axis and roller axis accurately coincide on the same plane during calibration, and it is related to the applied additional device. However, calibration outside this plane cannot ensure the necessary thread accuracy.

In this paper, a rolling head (invention certificate No. 659025) is proposed. The threaded roller 2 is arranged in the shell 3. The shell is installed on the tool bar 4 which can move back and forth, and is compressed by spring 5 and screw 6.

The thread rolling head is fixed on the tool holder of the machine tool with the tool bar 4, feeds to the rotating blank 1 from the initial position, and presses the housing 3 tightly against the end face of the tool bar with the spring 5 (Fig. a). In the working feed, the rolling head advances in the vertical plane of the part axis and deforms the thread profile with the threaded roller 2. In this case, due to the elastic deformation of the blank, the obtained thread size is larger than that of the roller.

When the rolling head moves in the reverse direction (Fig. b), the threaded roller repeatedly contacts with the thread profile of the part. Due to the size difference between the roller and the thread, the force to brake the shell is generated and the thread is calibrated. The tool bar continues to move with the tool holder of the machine tool, so that the spring is compressed to the size of dry roller such as thread size, and the compression force of the spring exceeds the force of braking the shell. After that, the housing is returned to its original position by the spring.

The design and application of double tool synchronous thread rolling head improves the problem of repeated tool adjustment and tool setting of the original single tool head, greatly improves the plane processing operation speed, improves the track operation of the original single tool, and calibrates the accuracy of one-way rolling. At the same time, bi-directional synchronous rolling can also change the defect of unidirectional stress deformation, so that the workpiece can be stressed evenly in both directions at the same time. It has brought great help to the plane and end face machining of the product workpiece.
